h3Does your splicing method meet critical industry specifications?

From wire harnesses to other assembly needs, you owe it to your company to explore how Sonobond’s ultrasonic wire splicers produce welds that can reliably withstand heat, humidity, vibration, corrosive substances, adverse environments and increasingly challenging functional conditions. In fact, our welds meet IPC/WHMA-A-620B specifications for high conductivity and tensile strength. Using vibrational energy to disperse surface oxides, ultrasonic technology creates durable, solid-state metallurgical welds, using less time and materials than alternative methods. Plus, Sonobond’s patented Wedge-Reed Ultrasonic Welding system is the only ultrasonic system able to weld tin-coated and oxidized wires and terminals, creating the lowest resistance welds available. Our Dual Head SpliceRite™ provides one-pulse wire splicing of up to 100 mm2 in stranded bare copper wire and tinned wire to about 60mm2, while our SonoWeld® units can be custom-tooled to weld tinned wire to bare or coated terminals. Both these ultrasonic welders have built-in microprocessor controlled systems that allow automatic frequency control, overload protection, and storage and recall of up to 250 weld protocols. Digital displays permit selection of welding modes by time, energy or distance. Heat- treated tool steel Taper Lock Tips can perform up to 30,000 welds before redressing is required and as many as 100,000 welds before being easily removed and replaced. As with all Sonobond equipment, these machines require only minimal training. Plus, service and technical support is provided before, during and after installation.
