Web Site Overview

Navigation & Menu System

While there are plenty of featured items with links on either side of the main content area of our site, the Main Navigation System is located near the top of every page.  (The navigation System is at the very top of the Main Home Page.)  The primary items are Manufacturers, Products, Services, About RIS, Get a Quote, Contact, and Home.  Many of these items have their own menus and perhaps even sub-menus as well.

You can access the navigation system (including all menus and sub-menus) with your mouse or with your keyboard.  Just press <F12> to activate the menu system, then use the <ARROW> keys to move through the various items, menus, and sub-menus, and <ENTER> to make your selection.

Using the <ARROW> keys will keep you within the navigation system.  (i.e. If you go past the end of the menu system it will ‘Wrap Around’ to the beginning.)  As an added function, however, you can cycle through the navigation system plus all links and form elements on the page by using the <TAB> or <SHIFT TAB> keys.

For your convenience, there are also buttons for ‘Home’ and ‘Top’ at the bottom of each page.

Preferred Customer Sign Up & Log-In

We invite all customers and Web site visitors to become registered users of our site.  To sign up all you have to do is provide your basic contact information.  Then, when you return to our site, all you need is your valid email address and the password we sent to your email address.

Once you are logged in, you can access any of the various Contact Forms or Quote Request Forms and all of your information will be automatically filled in for you.

PLEASE NOTE:  Rochester Industrial Services, Inc. will never share your contact information with any third party.  Our contact forms do not ask for any sensitive information, and are generally limited to Name, Company, Location, Phone Number, and Email Address.

Committment to Quality - This Site is Validated

As a sign of our ongoing committment to quality, this site has been certified as Valid HTML according to the standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium.  We've even included an icon link (as above and to the right) on every page that allows us (or anyone) to re-validate any page at any time.

Browsers / Screen Resolution

For best results and maximum enjoyment of our Web site, we highly recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Version 6.  (This Web site works fine in Explorer 5.5, and Explorer 7.0 beta is due Summer of 2005.)  If it's time for you to upgrade, you can get a free copy of the latest version of Explorer any time by clicking the icon above and to the right.

And although this site has been designed and tested to work with any screen resolution from 800x600 to 1600x1200, we encourage you to use a screen resolution of at least 1024x768 or greater.

For information on how to change your computer's screen resolution, please consult with your computer manufacturer or the documentation that came with your computer, or you might try this:  Right-Click on your desktop, select ‘Properties,’ find and click on the tab that says ‘Settings,’ use the slide bar to adjust your screen resolution, and click your way out using ‘Apply,’ ‘OK,’ or ‘Yes’ as appropriate.  (You might even have to read some of the prompts!)
